What is Equipment in Dragon Ball Legends

Dragon Ball Legends equipment

You might have already encountered these small portraits that somewhat resemble a badge with various icons and frame colors. These are called the equipment.

The equipment is the type of item that you can attach to particular Dragon Ball Legends characters. Think of it as the item builds that you set for your characters in a multiplayer battle arena or MOBA game. They are closely similar to active item builds that both enhance the unit’s stats and allow the unit to have another active skill. Because of its function, the choice of equipment plays a very crucial role in the performance of the character during combats.

Now, here is to give you a clearer view of the equipment functions: these items usually provide stat increase, particularly with the damage output of units to specific character tags, giving a great defense, and additional unique skill as mentioned.

However, one common misconception about the use of these items is the critical buffs. The truth is that equipment cannot significantly increase a unit with the critical rate and critical damage. It is better to choose a different item that provides pure buffs than this.

How to Choose Equipment

Before showing you some of the recommended equipment to give your units, let us first show you how you can choose equipment for each of your units.

First, go to Menu > Characters > Party Formation.

There, you will see all your party lineups. Choose which one to modify and it will take you to a panel that shows you slots numbered 1 to 3. The first thing you have to do is select the character you want to edit the equipment attached, then click the slot, and choose the equipment you want to place on the slot.

Initially, each unit can only accommodate three equipment. But as you reach a higher class and perform soul boosts, you can unlock more equipment slots which can be helpful by adding more equipment per unit.

But before you choose the equipment you want for your character, you have to be mindful of the conditions that need to be met. Here are some of the equipment conditions you have to remember:

  1. Equipment of the same name cannot be used twice on the same unit.
  2. Some equipment can only be used for particular character tags.
  3. Limit break requirements of some equipment
