Fortnite Metallica Concert Is Giving Destiny 2 Fans Serious Witness Vibes

In the latest Fortnite collab with a popular music artist, we’ve got a buttload of new content to dive into. And it is none other than the kings of heavy metal, Metallica, making an appearance in Fortnite’s latest Festival Season.

This is just the next step in Epic Games’ grand scheme for Fortnite, transcending the typical ‘game’ that we know and love and expanding it into an amusement park of sorts where you can explore and dive into new ‘ways’ of experiencing the content you love.

But with the new addition of the latest Metallica Fortnite collab, fans have spotted quite an uncanny resemblance to one of Destiny 2’s latest bosses in their newly released ‘The Final Shape’ expansion.

But is there more than meets the eye?

Well, probably not but hey, it’s fun to speculate anyway. Before we get into it, while we’re on the topic if you’re on the search for Fortnite accounts for sale or Destiny 2 account for sale, U7BUY has everything you need at affordable prices!

Destiny 2’s Potential New Crossover w/ Fortnite?

So where does all of this new speculation stem from? Well honestly speaking, it’s less so ‘speculation’ than it is most probably pure coincidence. This comes from the latest Fortnite Creative Event themed after Metallica, which has players navigating through a desolate wasteland as the members of Metallica.

As you’d expect, the event is filled with iconic ‘rock and roll’ themes like abandoned electric guitar-shaped buildings and then racing crag-filled valleys with constant eruptions of lava with a backdrop of Fortnite Metallica’s jams.

You can’t really get any more metal than that, really.

As you play through the event and enjoy the in-game concert, you’ll eventually teleport to the ‘Master of Puppets’ where you’ll need to destroy the multi-limbed megalithic enigma to complete the event.

And of course, once you defeat the all-powerful Master of Puppets, you’re transported back to rock out with a performance by Metallica themselves. But here’s where the speculation comes into play; the Master of Puppets boss has an uncanny resemblance to another boss in Destiny 2.

This boss is none other than The Witness whom the Guardians have to take down in the final encounter of the Salvation’s Edge raid. We can see why fans would point out the resemblance, as you’re basically facing off against a gigantic, megalithic being with more limbs than one.

While there are quite a few similarities between the two nasty bosses, in reality, this is not much else other than a coincidence. However, the ‘coincidence’ did happen just a couple of weeks after the initial release of The Final Shape expansion in Destiny 2 and Fortnite.

Considering that Fortnite and Destiny have partnered up before to bring iconic Destiny characters to the game, it’s not that much of a stretch but again, considering the release times between the two it’s more than likely a coincidence than any real ‘foreshadowing’ going on.

What Else is New in the Fortnite Metallica Collab?

The Season 4 Festival Pass

With Fortnite Festival Season 4, we also got a brand spanking new Festival Pass filled with the Gods of Rock goodies and swag to rock in-game. Similar to the usual Battle Pass, the Festival Pass has a Free tier and a Premium tier which means you’ll need to shell out some VBucks Fortnite to get all the rewards.

However, if you were gunning to rock one of the new Outfits with Metallica’s members, that is exclusive to the Premium Festival Pass tier. Otherwise, there’s still a ton to unlock including the Slurp Blaster Guitar, new Jam Tracks, bumping Lobby Tracks, Auras, emotes, and more.

The good news is if you do unlock the new Fortnite Metallica character skins, you can also access and use the skins in any Lego Fortnite content!

Ride the Lightning Guitars!

Another great addition with the Fortnite x Metallica collab is a new in-game item that’ll be found around the map and in chests, ‘Ride the Lightning’ guitars. The new items will have players soaring through the skies, solely on the power of sick riffs, culminating in a powerful drop attack.

Not only will you ascend yourself, but your squadmates can also hitch a ride alongside you!

The Ride the Lighting guitar is honestly a sick way of traversing the map, and since the time to elevate is pretty quick, they’re sure to be a handy item for quick escapes or reaching cliffs/skyscraper builds instantaneously.

Additionally, players will also find the floating ‘Metallica Loot Island’ in the middle of every match. It descends from the skies which is sick already, but you’ll also be able to jam out with Metallica Fortnite with holographic versions of the members rocking out around the stage!

Fortnite Metallica Puppet Master Skins

If you manage to snag all the new Metallica member skins in the Festival Pass, there’s also a new bundle in the Shop to unlock alternate styles for each of the member skins. It’s themed after the ‘Puppet Master’ and shows off a menacing skull chest piece with an eerie fire glow, as well as glowing red eyes!

The new Puppet Master Outfits will be available until August 16th, 2024 so snag ‘them’ up quickly if you’re a real metalhead & Metallica fan! Oh, and did we mention that the Puppet Master Outfit will also be available in Lego Fortnite in case you wanna rock it there too?

And if you’re looking for a specific PS, PC, or Xbox Fortnite skin, check out U7BUY to find accounts and in-game items for sale!

New Rocket Racing Track & Rides

To top off the Metalica goodies in the latest Festival season, Rocket Racing fans can drift around Thrash Mountain, a rock-inspired arena where you’ll be racing on fretboards with a devastated landscape with sharp & rocky mountains, filled with lava!

Plus, you’ll also be racing to Metallica’s ‘Fuel’, a pretty apt background track if you ask me.

There’s also a new car for you to race in, the ‘Backfire Card Body’ that players can unlock by completing Rocket Racing’s exclusive ‘Metallica Quests’. You can unlock an exclusive Puppetmaster Backfire Decal and the matching Chasing Light Wheels.

Again, the new track and Fortnite Metallica Quests are only available until August 16th, 2024, so get to racing fiends!
