Genshin Impact Hydroculus Locations & Map

If you’re a completionist, chances are you’ll want to collect those shiny blue floating orbs going by the name of Genshin Hydroculus. But what exactly are they, and where can you find them? Before you start looking for a Genshin account prefilled with these orbs, let’s take a look at Hydroculus locations on the map.

What are the Hydroculi?

Some things you can’t buy with Genesis Crystals or from the Genshin Impact Store, and the Hydroculi are one such item. These are collectibles that allow you to upgrade the Fontaine region’s Statues of the Seven, so yes, they are worth your time and effort! The 271 Hydroculi are spread through land and water alike, so keep a sharp lookout.

Court of Fontaine Locations

To the north of Liyue, you’ll find the Court of Fontaine, a region famous for its waterways. As you can see from the map above, you’ll find 42 Genshin Hydroculus in and around this region. You’ll need to complete some additional quests to get access to some of them, including the Aqueous Tidemarks World Quest and the Narzissenkreuz Adventure World Quest.

Beryl and Belleau Locations

Make your way to these two prominent cities located in the south of the map to find the 42 Hydroculus spread throughout the area. Your search for these will involve water diving, ship-searching, and hill climbing, so get your trekking shoes out!

Liffey Locations

You’ll find Fontaine’s technological hub, known for its innovation, in the northeastern part of the map. Unlike the regions mentioned earlier, Liffey harbors a slightly lower number of Genshin Hydroculus. The 23 collectibles can be found spread throughout caves, underwater, hills, and mountains alike, and some require you to have completed quests beforehand. This includes the Unfinished Comedy quest, which requires you to make your way into the Fortress of Meropide.

Erinnyes Locations

This forest, located to the east of Fontaine, is home to 38 Hydroculus. Don’t let the mystical and intoxicating charm of the forest green distract you from the task at hand! Keep your eyes on the prize, and look for the blue glow against the green backdrop of the trees.

Nostoi Hydroculus

Head on over to Petrichor Island for this next batch of Genshin Hydroculus. Most of your efforts here will involve exploring in and around the Faded Castle. It shouldn’t take you too long, though, as this area harbors just about 9 Hydroculus. An important point to note here is that you’ll have to complete the Shadow over Petrichor quest to access some of these Genshin Hydroculus.

Morte Locations

For this area, start your search over at the ruins of Fort Charybdis, and then move out to the surrounding areas. You might remember this region from the quest “An Expected Lie.” Finding the Hydroculi here is going to take you a considerable amount of time, given that you have to search for 27 of them.

Research Institute Locations

Close to the Liffey region, you’ll find 42 Hydroculi near the Research Institute. A quest you should complete beforehand is the Road to Singularity, which, thankfully, isn’t locked behind any other quest. What might help you speed along the process is unlocking the Teleport Waypoint.

Sea of Bygone Era Locations

We can divide this area into two parts: the east and the west. The Sea of Bygone Eras as a whole can be unlocked by completing Underwater Nocturne in the Canticles of Harmony quest chain. While this will get you access to some of the Hydroculi, the rest will require you to complete the Last Day of Remuria World quest.

20 Hydroculi can be found on the west side of the sea, as shown in the picture to the left above. The remaining 26 are found on the east side, as shown in the picture to the right.

What do you do once you collect them all?

As mentioned earlier, the Hydroculi allows you to upgrade the Statues of the Seven located in the Fontaine Region. More specifically, though, let’s take a look at what each level of the statue requires:

  • Level 2: Needs 20 Genshin Hydroculus.
  • Level 3: Needs an additional 22 Hydroculus, or 42 in total.
  • Level 4: Needs an additional 25 Hydroculus, or 67 in total.
  • Level 5: Needs an additional 28 Hydroculus, or 95 in total.
  • Level 6: Needs an additional 30 Hydroculus, or 125 in total.
  • Level 7: Needs an additional 32 Hydroculus, or 157 in total.
  • Level 8: Needs an additional 35 Hydroculus, or 192 in total.
  • Level 9: Needs an additional 38 Hydroculus, or 230 in total.
  • Level 10: Needs an additional 41 Hydroculus, or 271 in total.

Other rewards include the Adventure EXP you earn with each upgrade. This can be used to increase your adventure rank. As you increase your adventure rank, you will start to unlock additional world levels. An important point to remember here is that once you reach the 60th rank, each Adventure EXP can be converted to 10 Mora.

In addition to the Adventure EXP, you also get Primogen, another currency in Genshin Impact. These can be used for a variety of purposes, including:

  • 50–200 Primogens can be used to replenish 60 original resins.
  • Purchase the levels in the Battle Pass for 150 Primogen each.
  • Acquire Intertwined Fate for 160 Primogens
  • Acquire Acquaint Fate for 160 Primogens

Finally, with each level, you’ll also gain a certain number of Hydro Sigil. These can be used in areas such as the Fountain of Lucine and Mequigon’s Souvenir Shop. You’ll need to reach level 50 at the Fountain of Lucine for this, though!

Conclusion

That’s about this for this Genshin Hydroculus Locations guide. It’s going to take you some serious dedication to collect all of them, but the reward is certainly worth the grind. And if you truly are that big of a fan of the game, then you should treat yourself to some merchandise from the Genshin Impact Store.
