IKEA KALLAX Shelving Unit
In the past, we would have stuck the good old Billy bookcase at the top of this list. However, those days have passed (although, Billy will be making an appearance here). This is because the KALLAX exists. It is one of the most multi-functional bits of furniture at IKEA. It is a storage unit that you slot loads of different modules in, from bookcases, to magazine racks, to drawers and cupboard doors, and even a hiding hole for your cat. You really can’t go wrong.
IKEA MALM Drawers
All the MALM products at IKEA are awesome, and we’ll be including a couple of them on this list. We want to get started with the MALM chest of 4 drawers. It is a sensible-looking unit that can easily fit into a more contemporary room. You get lots of space in there too. This may be one for the bedroom, but we’ve seen some people use their MALM in the living room, or wherever a bit of extra storage is needed.
IKEA BRIMNES Wardrobe
We know that wardrobes can be a tad expensive, so why not get a cheaper, but still good, option in the BRIMNES? This actually comes in a few different sizes. They all have 3 doors, though. This should make it far, far easier for you to root through all your clothing. Like the MALM selection of products, it is a very casual style that should fit in easily with most decors too. How cool is that?
MALM Dressing Table
We told you another MALM product would make the list! The MALM dressing table is cute. It has a simple design, which means that you can spice it up however you want. We think that this is something that will work well both in your bedroom, and in your guest bedroom. It is available in a few different colors, if you’re not a fan of the simple white (although, we must admit we do love that white look).
BILLY Bookcase
The BILLY bookcase is an IKEA product that probably doesn’t need an introduction. Other than the meatballs, it is one of the most popular products in the IKEA range. It is a sturdy bookcase, available in multiple sizes and colors. It is pretty easy to put together too. We don’t think there is a single IKEA-styled home out there that would be complete without a BILLY.
MULIG Clothes Rack
The MULIG Clothes Rack is for those who don’t have enough space to stick a wardrobe (we’ve seen this rocking about in a few smaller apartments). It is very affordable, and you have a good amount of space on the rack. If you feel like having your clothes out on the show, or you just want somewhere more affordable to put your clothing, then the MULIG Clothes Rack may be the route to go down.
MICKE Desk
The MICKE desk is one of the better desks that they have at IKEA. It comes with a couple of drawers on the front (so you can put your keyboard, and whatever other accessories you have). There’s also a handy storage cabinet for those that use a desktop computer. On the back, there is an area to thread your wires to keep everything neat and tidy when you are working. Oh, and it is affordable too. Probably one of the better ways to spend your gift vouchers!
MALM Bed Frame
Oh look. What do you know? It’s another MALM product! This time, it is a single bed frame (you’ll need to buy the mattress, but IKEA has a few options there, so you’re covered). We love the MALM bed frame because it has a ton of storage space underneath thanks to the two storage boxes. Pair this up with a smaller MALM chest of drawers, and we reckon you’ve got the makings of a simple, affordable, and highly stylish bedroom.
