Black Myth: Wukong (August 20)

Genre: Action RPG

No matter how many times we see an iteration of Journey to the West, it’s always as exciting as the last. In this recent interpretation of the Chinese novel, players take on the role of Wukong as he fights through obstacles to show that he is The Destined One.

Whether it’s a soulslike game or not, expect some cool and gnarly-looking enemies and unique gameplay mechanics! This is one of the most awaited and best upcoming PC games on Steam, so better mark your calendars when this arrives in August.

Visions of Mana (August 30)

Genre: Action RPG

Decades since the last main Mana game, Visions of Mana brings the classic Japanese action-RPG series back to the spotlight. A semi-open world, real-time battles, and stunning anime artwork await you in this 5th mainline installment.

Join Val as he stands guard for his childhood friend, who has to embark on a pilgrimage to the Mana Tree. Unlike past games, this won’t be console-locked and will immediately be available on PC, making it one of the best Steam games in our books already. See you at the Mana Tree, folks!

Silent Hill 2 Remake (October 8)

Genre: Survival Horror

Perfect timing for the spooky month of October, Konami is finally remaking this spine-chilling game that put the name of the franchise in the limelight. Expect better graphics, improved sound (put on some headphones for maximum spooky), rehashed gameplay to fight your fears away, and a larger environment for players to explore.

For those who missed out on this masterclass of a horror game years ago, the story focuses on James and his investigation of a mysterious letter from his late wife. The trail leads him back to Silent Hill, where memories and nightmares of his past clash to reveal the truth.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero (October 10)

Genre: Fighting

Budokai Tenkaichi fans, we have a new contender entering the arena this October!

This new Dragon Ball fighting game promises to be at least on par or even better than its predecessors. From new gameplay mechanics like Revenge Counter and Short Dash to having 164 characters (more than Budokai Tenkaichi 3) in its roster, expect some fun Saiyan time in Sparking Zero.

Metaphor: ReFantazio (October 11)

Genre: Action RPG

Heads up, Persona fans! A new Atlus masterpiece is on the horizon. And this time, we’re going medieval, folks. In this dark fantasy RPG, a mirror of the real world shows up as a fantasy kingdom where its king has been assassinated. To protect himself from constant ostracization and help his friend (the crown prince) from a curse, the protagonist must fight to become the next successor of the land.

This is one of the best upcoming PC games on Steam from the sheer fact that Atlus is on a roll with their PC releases recently. Keep ‘em coming, Atlus!

New World: Aeternum (October 15)

Genre: MMORPG

To shake things up for Amazon Games’ flagship MMORPG, players will get to enter an even newer world in New World: Aeternum.

Think of it as the new version of New World. In it, you’ll play as a pirate who accidentally gets roped into a curse after interrupting a ritual. Your shipmates have become rotten husks, and a dark voice taunts you. With a new ARPG-style combat and a mysterious island to explore, brace yourself for some supernatural fun in Aeternum!

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (October 25)

Genre: FPS

CoD games have always been regarded as one of the best games on Steam by shooter fans, and this new sequel seems no different. Described as a spy thriller set in the 90s and a story continuation of Black Ops Cold War, Black Ops 6 is the biggest installment to the series yet! 

With 16 new multiplayer maps, omnidirectional movements, and the return of co-op zombie mode, the long wait for this game is worth it for all of its new content. But if October still feels too far, play CoD Mobile to pass the time.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure (October 29)

Genre: Point-and-click adventure

In this direct sequel to the hit game Life is Strange, Max is all grown-up but finds herself in another mystery. This time, she has to solve her friend’s unfortunate murder!

But instead of reversing things with her time powers, she opens up a portal to a timeline where her friend is alive but in imminent danger. Help Max balance two timelines with her timey-wimey powers, all while getting to the bottom of things. Life can’t get any more strange than this.

Farming Simulator 25 (November 12)

Genre: Simulation

Rev up your tractors and get ready to grow new crops in the newest Farming Simulator installment! Players will find themselves in the fields of East Asia, North America, or Central Europe to farm rice and spinach and raise new livestock, among others.

So if you’ve always dreamed about leaving the concrete jungle to tend to a farm (a la Stardew Valley), you can live your dreams in Farming Simulator 25.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake (November 15)

Genre: JRPG

It’s no exaggeration to say that the DQ games changed the world of JRPGs. The whole “hero goes on a quest to save the world with his allies” is popularized by these games. Considered one of the best in the series, fans can finally play Dragon Quest III in a beautiful HD-2D remake (similar to the style in Bravely Default and Octopath Traveler).

Join the son of the failed hero as he takes up the sword to continue his father’s quest and vanquish evil once and for all. What once was a Nintendo exclusive can now be immediately played on PC, which also makes this one of the best and most-awaited PC games on Steam for many JRPG fans.
