Valorant Episode 9 Act 1 Update

With the Valorant Episode 9 underway, it has some very big shoes to fill as the previous Episode 8 saw the debut of a new Agent that goes by the name of Clove and a new map called Abyss. Heading into the ninth chapter of the game, fans have a lot of expectations and are looking forward to new content headed their way. So gear up, top up with Valorant Points (VP), and get ready for all the new content in the first Act of Episode 9.

Valorant Episode 9 Act 1 Battle Pass

With every new episode in Valorant, you are bound to get a new battle pass, and with how the latest battle pass is shaping up, you had better get your hands on a Valorant Points Gift card before it’s too late. The latest Battle Pass is known as The Collision Battle Pass, which was released on June 26, 2024. It has the usual cost of 1,000 Valorant Points, which is roughly $10. So you’ll have to top up Valorant points as soon as possible to unlock its rewards.

That said, not all rewards on the Battle Pass of your Valorant account are locked behind a paywall. The Battle Pass does have a free tier and here are all the rewards included in that segment apart from Radianite:

  • Bubble Pop Classic
  • That’s Terrifying Spray
  • Tanghulu Gun Buddy
  • Dream Bubble Card
  • Epilogue: Bot Means Business Card

New Valorant Collision Battle Pass Skins

With that out of the way, here are all the new skinlines introduced in the Episode 9 update of Valorant. Keep in mind that these skins don’t have any sort of special effects that you’ll commonly see on premium skins in Valorant.

  • Bubble Pop: The Bubble Pop skinline has skins for the Classic, Guardian, Judge, Vandal, and Melee weapons, with two different color variants: red and White or Blue and Pink.
  • Bumble Brigade: The Bumble Brigade skyline features a theme of black and orange and features tiny bumble bees. This collection has skins available for the Ares, Bulldog, Judge, and Ghost weapons.
  • Convergence: Did these skins remind you of the Ion bundle at first glance? Well, it did to me. It features a futuristic black-and-white color theme with blue hues. This collection includes skins for the Frenzy, Stinger, Marshal, and Phantom weapons.

Apart from these weapon skins, the Collision Battle Pass comes with nine Gun Buddies, 13 player cards, and 13 sprays as well. Top up Valorant points only can not get them.

Valorant Episode 9 Act 1 Agent Changes

If you were hoping to see massive changes to Agents just like in Episode 8, you’ll be disappointed to know that not many changes are made to the Valorant agents in the game. However, Valorant lore enthusiasts will be pleased to know that there were new conversation voice lines added between Agents that include Phoenix, Harbor, Brimstone, Yoru, Raze, Iso, Sage, Neon, Gekko, Skye, Deadlock, Omen, Kayo, and Reyna. This means there will be more lore revelations and hints to look forward to.

Valorant Agents Changes on PC

When it comes to actual gameplay-related changes to the Agents, Iso saw some major nerfs as he has been dominating the pubs and pro play meta ever since he was reworked in Episode 8. In the latest patch, the duration of his Double Tap buff has been decreased, while the refresh that comes with securing two kills has been removed.

Valorant Agent Changes on Console

The sole change made in the console version of Valorant was buffing the HP of Sova’s drone from 60 to 100. This minor change has been made to improve Sova’s viability in the Valorant console meta.

Valorant Episode 9 Act 1 Competitive updates

Episode 9 Act brings some changes to the competition as well. In this patch, you’ll see Abyss being added to the competitive map pool. Hopefully, by now, you are used to the new map so that you know how to tackle it in your ranked games.

Apart from that, the Competitive Mode is coming to Console in this patch to spice up the gaming experience. So you better hop on quickly if you want to be the first one to read Radiant as TenZ did on the PC version of Valorant. In the console Competitive Mode map pool, you can expect to counter Abyss, Ascent, Bind, Haven, and Sunset.

New Premium Skinline: Evori Dreamwings Skinline

A new Episode in Valorant is incomplete without the introduction of a new premium skinline. In Episode 9 Act 1, Valorant released the Evori Dreamwings skinline. The bundle comes with four gun skins and five cute companions, one each for a different weapon, who will respond in different ways depending on your actions, such as shooting, jumping, or aiming. These companions will assist you in reloading your weapon, getting you ready to unload your next clip on your enemy, making this skin line unique as compared to other Valorant skin lines available in the game.
